The UK Branch of SETAC-Europe distributes funds from its Sustaining Members for the purpose of encouraging SETAC members who are UK university registered students to attend SETAC conferences and present the results of their research. This includes presentation of science journal critique https://writingleader.com/journal-article-critique/ to get practical skills. This scheme is administered by the Awards Committee, which consists of a member of Council and a Student Representative. The criteria for students applying for an award under this scheme are as follows:
Applicants must be:

Members of SETAC.
|

|
Students registered to study for a degree at a UK university. |
|
|
Making an oral or poster presentation at the SETAC meeting for which the application is being made. |
|
Awards are made for the purpose of financial assistance to students who are presenting the results of their research. The application must be made in relation to a SETAC meeting. Preference will be given to meetings in the UK, but European and World meetings will be considered. Applicant's supervisor or Head of Department must provide a supporting statement concerning the benefits they will gain from attending the conference. Award recipients must acknowledge SETAC-Europe (UK Branch) and Sustaining members in presentations and any publications arising.

The maximum sum available to each applicant under this scheme is £200, but awards may be less. There are three deadlines per year for receipt of application forms by the Awards Committee:
- 1st February (e.g. for the May meeting of SETAC-Europe)
- 1st June (e.g. for the September meeting of SETAC-Europe UK Branch or the November meeting of SETAC-North America)
- 1st October
Applicants will normally be notified of the outcome within a month of these dates.
